🥩 Slow Cooker Shredded Beef

Ingredients

  • 2–3 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or Worcestershire sauce)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 1–2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prep the Beef
    • Season the beef with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and cumin.
    • Optional: Sear in a skillet with olive oil for 2–3 minutes per side for extra flavor.
  2. Add Ingredients to Slow Cooker
    • Place sliced onions and garlic at the bottom
    • Put beef on top
    • Pour in beef broth, soy sauce, and tomato paste
  3. Cook
    • Low for 8 hours or high for 4–5 hours
    • Meat should be tender and easy to pull apart
  4. Shred
    • Remove beef and shred with two forks
    • Return to slow cooker and mix with juices
  5. Serve
    • Use for tacos, sandwiches, over rice, or in salads

Tips

  • Add carrots, bell peppers, or potatoes for a one-pot meal
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle with fresh herbs (parsley or cilantro) before serving
