🥖🧄 Sourdough No-Knead Garlic Bread
A crusty, flavorful sourdough garlic bread that’s soft inside and crunchy outside — made without kneading, so it’s simple but impressive.
🛒 Ingredients (Makes 1 loaf)
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- ¼ tsp instant yeast
- 1 ½ cups warm water
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- ½ tsp black pepper (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Make the Dough
- In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and yeast.
- Add warm water and stir until just combined.
- The dough will be sticky — that’s normal.
No kneading needed.
2️⃣ First Rise
- Cover bowl with plastic wrap or a towel.
- Let sit 8–12 hours at room temperature (overnight works best).
3️⃣ Prepare Garlic Butter
- Mix garlic, olive oil (or melted butter), parsley, and black pepper.
- Set aside.
4️⃣ Shape the Loaf
- Lightly flour a surface and transfer dough.
- Gently shape into a rough oval or round.
- Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Let rise 30–60 minutes until slightly puffed.
5️⃣ Add Garlic
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the top of the dough.
- Optional: score the top lightly for a rustic look.
6️⃣ Bake
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C) with a baking stone or tray inside.
- Bake 25–30 minutes until golden brown and crusty.
- Remove and let cool slightly before slicing.
💡 Tips
✔ For extra crunch, preheat a pan of water in the oven to create steam.
✔ Use sourdough starter in place of yeast for a tangier flavor.
✔ Serve warm with pasta, soups, or salads.
✔ Leftovers can be toasted or frozen.
If you want, I can also give a cheesy version with melted mozzarella baked inside for an extra indulgent twist.
