Posted on January 13, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, cozy recipe for a stack of homemade, no-oven flatbreads—soft, flexible, and made right on the stovetop 🫓

🫓 Homemade No-Oven Flatbreads (Stovetop)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¾ cup warm water (approx.)
  • 2 tbsp oil (olive or vegetable)

Instructions

  1. Make the dough
    • In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and baking powder.
    • Add water and oil, mix until a soft dough forms.
    • Knead 3–4 minutes until smooth.
  2. Rest
    • Cover and let rest 20–30 minutes (important for softness).
  3. Divide & roll
    • Divide dough into 6–8 balls.
    • Roll each into a thin circle (about 6–7 inches).
  4. Cook (no oven!)
    • Heat a dry skillet or pan over medium-high heat.
    • Cook each flatbread 1–2 minutes per side until bubbles form and brown spots appear.
    • Optional: brush lightly with butter after cooking.
  5. Stack & cover
    • Stack flatbreads and cover with a clean towel to keep warm and soft.

🌟 Tips

  • For extra softness, replace ¼ cup water with yogurt or milk
  • Keep cooked flatbreads wrapped—they stay soft longer
  • Freeze well once cooled

🥙 How to Use Them

  • Wraps & sandwiches
  • Scooping hummus or dips
  • Flatbread pizzas
  • Alongside curries, soups, or stews

If you want, I can also share:

  • 2-ingredient flatbreads
  • Whole wheat version
  • Garlic butter flatbreads
  • Yeast-free naan-style flatbreads

Just tell me 😊
