Sweet Pea Macaroni

Posted on April 2, 2026 by Admin

Sweet Pea Macaroni is a simple, creamy, and slightly sweet-savory pasta dish—great as a side or light meal.

🥗 Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni (or any small pasta)
  • 1 cup sweet peas (fresh or frozen)
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sour cream (or yogurt)
  • 1–2 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
  • Salt & black pepper
  • Optional: ½ cup diced cheddar cheese or cubes
  • Optional: chopped onions or celery for crunch

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta
Boil macaroni in salted water until tender. Drain and let it cool.
  2. Prepare peas
If using frozen peas, thaw them (no need to cook much).
  3. Make the dressing
Mix mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar, vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Combine
In a large bowl, mix macaroni, peas, and any add-ins (cheese, onions, etc.).
  5. Toss & chill
Pour dressing over and mix well. Chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

🍽️ Serving Ideas

  • Serve cold as a side with grilled chicken or BBQ
  • Great for picnics and potlucks

💡 Tips

  • Add diced cooked chicken or tuna to make it a full meal
  • A pinch of garlic powder or mustard adds extra depth
  • Adjust sweetness—some like it more tangy than sweet

If you want, I can give you a healthier version or a creamy hot version instead of salad-style.
