Toll House Famous Fudge

Posted on April 16, 2026 by Admin

Here’s the Toll House Famous Fudge recipe—the classic “back-of-the-bag” style fudge from Nestlé.

It’s known for being quick, creamy, and reliably set because it uses marshmallows and evaporated milk.

🍫 Toll House Famous Fudge (Original Style)

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups granulated sugar
  • ⅔ cup evaporated milk (about a 5 oz can)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (about 1 standard bag)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8 inch pan with foil and lightly grease it.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and salt.
  3. Bring to a full rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  4. Boil for 4–5 minutes, still stirring. Remove from heat.
  5. Quickly stir in marshmallows, chocolate chips, nuts, and vanilla.
  6. Stir vigorously for about 1 minute, until smooth and marshmallows melt.
  7. Pour into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  8. Refrigerate for about 2 hours, then cut into squares.

🍬 Tip

  • Don’t overcook the sugar mixture—boiling too long can make it grainy or hard.
  • Work fast when adding chocolate and marshmallows so everything melts smoothly.

If you want, I can also give you:

  • a microwave version (faster)
  • a 2-ingredient fudge hack
  • or a rich double-chocolate variation
